I got a feeling...

The Black Eyed Pea's song "I got a feeling" says it all...

I got a feeling that tonight’s gonna be a good night
that tonight’s gonna be a good night
that tonight’s gonna be a good good night wooh hoo (x4)

Tonight’s the night night
Let’s live it up...

Well the night has come...and I must say I am very excited about this!!! We are having Loudon's own club this Thursday. We have been incredibly grateful to Dr. Guider who has offered us a space in the "Lower Level" of his office building. We have it decorated incredible and it will soon take on the Redskin ownership of our high school friends! We have a total of 8 leaders whose momentum is almost supernatural. They have taken ownership of this start and are bringing out the big guns for our first club this week. A surprise visit from Cupid himself and of course those crazy songs and games Young Life is famous for! I am excited about giving the talk, and sharing about the love Jesus had for us as he put skin on and moved into the neighborhood! We will be keeping tradition and going to Sonic in Loudon, after club! I am super excited for this opportunity and it has been a blessing to watch it unfold in God's timing! I am expectant to watch the Lord draw kids to himself and anticipate the Lord to move in the hearts of our high school friends. I covet your prayers this semester as we will continue to introduce this ministry into the community of Loudon and watch Jesus change our high school friends lives. We have 4 major events this spring that I am super excited for: Late Night-(We get on school buses with kids and hit up local spots *bowling, ices kating, late night movies... until the wee hours...) March 5 ALL-COUNTY CLUB- March 11 (meeting at OUR CLUB ROOM) LHS represent!! LAKE DAY...good times on the boats! and of course CAMP.... SHARP TOP COVE July 3-10th!!! These events are huge and we will need your prayers! Thank you for continuing to support me and the ministry that I love! To watch the Lord work and align his plan in his timing...so sweet! Thanks for your encouragement and help!

Roots & Fruits

“The future of humanity lies in the hands of those strong enough to show future generations a reason for hoping and living.”- Bob Mitchell, campaigner kid of Jim Rayburn, founder of Young Life

Tonight, I had the opportunity to hear Bob Mitchell speak.

I am at Young Life's New Staff training in Colorado at Crooked Creek Ranch with 170 other new staff from across the nation and international. We are here for ministry training. This is made possible by the supporters that have investing in the partnership with me in the mission of Young Life. I am here for 2 weeks and have been here for 2 days. Thank you! Thank you for supporting me as I continue to grow in being proactive about my faith, my calling to love high school kids through the avenue of Young Life, train to fully engage in my job and strive to be a part of this mission for life.

A few tidbits for you from Bob...

Club #37.

Jim wasn't dishonest. He didn't claim that he had 36 other before. He just called the first YL club #37. Kids at Loudon ask me why we start club at 7:57? It goes all the way back to the uniqueness of Jim Rayburn and his #37 club.

1 Corinthians 5:14… “The love of Christ constrains me.” Constrains- controls, motivates, drives me. The driving force of YL was Jesus. “I loved him because he first loved me!” Bob speaking about Jim Rayburn. “Fear not for thou are with thee, will not forsake thee.”

My prayer is that Christ constrains me! Christ constrains you! Christ begins to constrain my high school friends!

Much more to come!

the baby Jesus

Anticipation of the coming King.
Honesty of the manger scene.
Mary shunned by her pregnancy.
Joseph visited by an angel to make him believe.
A long trip, a full inn.
Where were the rest of the carpenter's family?
A teenage pregnancy.
The smell of the barn.
The labor and delivery of the beautiful baby boy.
Joseph and Mary, the newborn.
A miracle.

Celebrate the miracle.
Celebrate Jesus.

I have been living in the anticipation of the coming King. Releasing my expectations and resting in the beauty of my family. Desiring to just Know Him. My need for Him. My desire to be known by Him. I hope and rest in the coming King. The kingdom of my heavenly Father and my Savior. One. Only. Presence.

Merry Christmas.
